For my textile design studio in Denmark, our final project was to design both a textile that was digitally printed on fabric and a wallpaper.
Inspired from my travels to Ghana in the summer of 2014 and the beautiful, fun, and colorful African wax prints, I decided to recreate something with the same types of textures and movement. I used my glasses as a repeated object - like many of the prints I had seen use everyday objects in their patterns.
I used this as a wallpaper, and layered parts of the textured pattern for the fabric. Here, you can see both the wallpaper and fabric working together in one space!
